taking door panel off
taking door panel off
i was putting my driver side window up when it just stopped so i grabbed the window and pulled up since it was almost up all the way and the window came off of the track and fell into the door... i've tried to reach down in the door to get it... looks like i have to take the door panel off... where are the screw locations for the door panel what's the easiest way of taking off???

Go to a parts store and buy the tool for it its under 10. You will be able to see the locations. Open the door all the way, start at the back top and their every few inches apart around the edge of the panel. Once the plastic clips are lose you can raise the top part over the lip and lift off. Very straight forward. Oh yea, you will have to do this first though take the 2 torx screws in the bottom of the door handle out, and the one at the top. You will also have to take the pull handle moding off and there is a screw behind that, atleast on firebirds.

theres a very good article in the tech section. just scroll down to the beautification section and look for the topic "third gen interior door panel restoration" it has some really good pictures on how to take off the door panel without breaking the trim piece at the top of the door. good luck. i used the meathod in the article and now have both of my panels off (without breaking anything) i am going to attempt to recover them.
