84 Z28....89 Firebird...Questions
Okay...I just got ahold of an 84 Z28, no title.
So it's a parts car. Has an L69 HO w. 5speed
and a posi rear w. 3.73 gears. Black exterior,
black n grey cloth interior. t-tops (for sale if
anyone needs them).
Now here's my question, will the interior from
the 84 Z fit in my 89 Bird? I like Camaro interior
better than Firebird interior. When I say
interior, I mean the dash, console, carpet, seats,
everything. Thanks guys.

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
With a lot of work, yes.
Most everything will 'bolt-in', a couple of brackets on the lower outer corners of the dash will need to be changed. The dash and console will both have to be changed together.
The hard part is the wiring....lots of it will need to be swapped around to work things correctly. The Camaro headlight switch is not equipped to operate the Firebird pop-up headlights; unless you swap over to the carb, the Camaro harness will not operate the FI system; and you'll have to mix'n'match wires for the taillight harness.
Not saying it can't be made to work, but it's gonna take a lot of effort.
