thirdgen doors
thirdgen doors
Is there any difference between different years of thirdgen doors? I know that the stip on the door that's supposed to prevent door dings changed, but are all thirdgen doors pretty much interchangable (other than issues of ground effects and power windows and locks)?
Yes, they are all the same except for the ground effects holes. Even the power windows and the locks plug right into the car-side connectors. Interior panels are different. I swapped a '91 TA door onto my '84 Z28 and all I had to do was patch some extra holes from the TA ground effects. Power mirror is the same also.

82-84 doors have different window tracks on the forward part of the doors. Also the older doors have a rust problem between the sheet metal and the outer belt weatherstrip

The window mechanism and the triangle fillers are different in the 82 doors than in the 83-92.
