Etched numbers in All Glass/ Lights/etc.

Question to anyone. I've never seen this before.
I have an 87 T/A, and throughout the car there is a sequence of letters and numbers, etched (Frosted) ( identical number ) on all the glass; t-tops, front, rear, sides, rear tail lights, emblem at center of rear lights, engine parts. What does this represent, decode? I've seen plenty of other TAs, Camaros, etc, and my car is the only one Ive found it on. Any thoughts, or direction?

Thanks
Dave

Someone probably had a serial number or the VIN etched in to help deter theft, makes it kinda hard to get rid of stolen parts if they have some sort of id number.

The etching is pro- lettering, and has no other match with Vins or serial numbers wit the car. I thought maybe deter theft, but unusual.

your car may have been a rental many rental companies do this to deter theft especially on a car with the popularity that the f-bodies enjoyed during their heyday

My car has the same stuff all over it also. I've never seen this until now either. Everything even the headlight frames are letter or engraved with a YYZ and some number code. The original owner did it, or had it done when he first got the car because I guess he figured if someone stole it and chopped it up there was a better chance of finding it. As far as im concerned its nothing special just something a paranoid owner wanted done to stop him from worrying.
