Console Shifter Plate

Can anyone tell me how to get the shifter **** off so I can replace my shifter plate?

Any info would be great!

There is a pin on the back side that you can get with a small flat head screwdriver. Put on the parking brake, but the car into 1st and then you will be able to stick the screwdriver into the slot and pry the pin out. The **** will just pull out....that is for an auto anyway, not sure about a stick/...don't they just unscrew?

it depends on the year of the car, on some years 82-85? u have to take off the round button and theres a C clip in there, in other years 86+ theres a clip on the back that u get out with a flat headscrew driver. and if its a manual, u unscrew it, lefty loosey, righty tighty
