Need new headliner fabric

Hey everybody, I have no idea where to find some. My car is a hard top, so nothing special is needed. I'd really appreciate any advice as to where to go to obtain new fabric/material. Thanks in advance.

Also you can try local fabric stores such as JoAnn Fabrics. That's where I got mine.

A lot of people get fabric locally from a craft store for a very inexpensive price. However, if you want the 'original' type fabric with the foam backing, I saw it in the Classic Industries catalogue the other night. It's a tad more expensive than Joanne's, but it's authentic headliner fabric. Ooooh.

The stuff that I got from JoAnn Fabrics was foam backed, and had the exact same fabric covering that I was removing. It was sold as headliner material, and was available in a few different colors. The gray color that I got looked to be a slightly different shade, but then again I was replacing an 18 year old headliner. I am sure that it was due to fading, discoloration, deterioration, dirty, etc...
Now that I have it installed, I really do not see any difference compared to new. It has the same look and feel as on a new car that uses that type of material. Is there some other difference here that I am missing? Or is there really a good reason to pay the extra for the stuff from Classic?

I got mine from the local Pep Boys... but paid $30. It was made by "Heads Up". They sold adhesive right next to the boxes, too... I used two cans.

They had two types of adhesive at the Pep Boys I went to, though... both were made by Heads Up. One was not meant for headliners! It said so on the back. The other can was. So check the cans before you pick them up.

The replacement worked out well- except I thought I'd be slick, and readjusted the fabric at the wrong time. I layed the fabric over the board with plenty of room to spare. Then I folded it halfway over on itself, and sprayed the board and fabric with glue. Then I figured I'd lift the fabric up a bit (at the center fold), and spray some glue in that crevice- dumb move. I wound up sliding the fabric backwards (non-glued half along non-glued board). So when I folded the glued fabric back over onto the glued board, well, guess what- I was an inch short. Too late, the glue gripped the stuff tight, so now you can see the headliner board at the front.

And guess on which side???? Yep, the passenger side.

So one day I'll re-do it again; it was easy enough.

Wow, go JoAnn Fabrics! You must have a much better one than I do. That's great... and even better than paying lots of $.
