Por15 users....how much do I need.

I'm getting ready to order por15. I'm gonna get the gray color to do my wheel wells, engine bay, core support, both bumper bars, underside floor pans (w/sfc's), trunk, the rear panel that the tail lights bolt to, and the rearend housing. How much will I need to properly do all that. My car isn't rusted other than a few tiny surface spots on the floor pan, so I figure one coat should be plenty. I was gonna clean and paint it gray, and figured that por15 would be a good preventative.

How much will I need to do all this?

Once you open the can the stuff will harden up in the can in about a week, unless you have a vaccum pump like I do and I suck out the air to about 15 in Hg. So If you plan on doing this like over an extended period I would purchase their mini pack of cans.

I purchased a quart and I have done the underside of my car near rocker pannels all the way back, whole rear end/components/ some areas like under the battery area/ at least a 3x3 section on one of my other cars and I still have about half a pint left. However, I am able to keep the air out of mine.

THeir website says a quart will do 96 sq ft. So that can help you with you calculations. I can't remember for sure but a gallon was well over 100 sq ft.

i went ahead and ordered a gallon, that way I don't have to reorder if I'm short somewhere. I guess I could find other places to put the leftovers. I just hope the grey will look good with Phantom Grey Pearl Paint on the exterior. All my tubular suspension/chassis parts will be powdercoated red.

Por 15 is cool stuff, I undercoated a lot of my camaro with it, I used about three coats on most of my car, but the trunk I only used one about a year ago, and it is full of surface rust now, so...

I'm halfway done with por-15 on my interior...Got all the hatch, moving up toward the front. I'm just brushing it on straight out of the can, it kinda thins out by itself and some parts end up -needing- a second coat, so i go as thick as i can...My plan is after the por-15 is done, i'm gonna tape everything i dont want covered up and get me a can of rubberized paint to spray over the por-15...It'll help deaden road noise and the car will be uber rust proof...plus the spray rubber will hide all my brush stroke marks and make it look more proffessional heh...If you can get a sprayer though, go for it. It's really hard to hit in some of the places with a brush...Probably impossible to get it ALL even with a sprayer unless you start taking panels off. At the rate i'm going, i'll get the whole interior side done in 1 good coat with about 3/4 of a quart
