new guages etc...
Hey, got a couple questions about guages. Is there any way to buy the printed circuit boards like in my 84 T/A, cause i haven't been able to find any (I had to solder a part of it to fix my temp guage). Is there a different style i can get? Is there any kits to change all the guages out, or switch the way it works? I'd also like to get a higher speedometer reading (mine only goes to 85)thanks for any help, hope that made some sense.

I can't say for sure on the printed circuit boards for the thirdgens but I would expect that you could get them since resto places had them for my '69 GTO. I don't think I've ever seen any third gen ones in resto places but perhaps GM still carries them? I've got the original cluster out of my '84 and everything in it works (or did when I took it out) and if you need the circuit board maybe we could work a deal out for it. When I installed my 350 and T-56 I swapped in a guage cluster from a newer bird with a 120 MPH speedo. This was fine for me since I needed an electronically driven speedo for the T-56, but with the original '84 transmission you'll need a cable driven speedo and I'm not sure if there are any (stock style) cable driven ones that go past 85 mph. Some others on the boards may be more help to you, but if you have a use for my original '84 cluster let me know since it's just sitting on a shelf in my garage at home
Anyway, I guess I wasn't much help, but at least I tried lol...Good luck with it though! Worst comes to worst just throw a T-56 in it and hook up a newer guage cluster with an electronic speedo

Classic Industries carries those printed circuit dash overlays you are looking for and they fit thirdgen Firebirds up to '87. They cost as much as $90 depending on the style and year of the dash.
