I see that everyone who has done the swap to the LS1 dash has gotten all the guages working except the fuel guage. I haven't done my swap yet but am looking for a way to keep the guage functional using the cluster's stock electrical components. That way the 'check guages' function might still work. I also want to keep the option open of upgrading to a '93 LT1 body harness so I can use the body control module to take advantage of newer features in the older chassis while staying independant of the PCM. The one thing I notice is that everyone who hs done the swap used LS1 clusters from '98+ cars. Will the '97 cluster's fuel guage work or is modification like the '98+ cluster necessary? Maybe just using the appropriate sender will work?

As you all know, '97 is the only year the style cluster was in an LT1 car, in case some were wondering.

Also, am I correct in that the tach will work right even for a TPI based car since the L98 and LT1 are both the same basic design?

Lastly, the odometer. How or where can I get it reprogrammed so the odometer reads correctly? I was planning on the 200 MPH conversion but first I want to get the odometer reading right. I'm not sure of the reading on my cluster since I haven't installed it yet but I'm sure it's off.

is the LT1 (1997 only) cluster work fine?
referring only to the tach and fuel gauges?
searched and searched, cant figure it out.
id like to know before i waste money on a cluster, or conversion boxes.
