anyone know how the louvers attach to the hood? I came upon a pair of OEM NOS GM louvers a while back and I'd kind of like to know what I'm in for when I go to replace them. I see that they have multiple studs along the underside, but there's no sign of threads or any other method of fixation to the hood that I can see.

It requires a zip nut or special nut that threads itself onto the plastic. I forget what exactly its called. We got mine through the Chevy Dealer over a year ago when my car was painted and the parts guy pulled up a diagram on there parts computer. He asked me if i wanted the fasteners as they did not come with the louvers. I think they were like $2.00 for em.
Super - guess I'll be visiting the local Chevy dealer before I go to put the new louvers on. Hey, thanks!

You can also get them from most auto parts stores.

I think the term you're looking for is "speed nuts". Might make the search a little easier
EDIT: If you can't find them new, hit the yards. They use the same ones to mount the GFX to the doors, and to mount the rear lower GFX to the lower quarter panels.
