fiberglass hood scoops

fiberglass hood scoops

I was thinkin...instead of spending over $400 on a cowl induction hood, all i really want is the look. Has anyone tried molding a fiberglass scoop onto a stock hood? One like this...

I haven't, but I know at least a few people use bolt on cowls. I fancy the '69 2" cowl bolt on personally...

I did on my 81 camaro, I'll see if I can dig up some pics to post. I personally don't like the way a bolt on or rivetted scoop looks, so I attached mine with rivets, and then fiberglassed it. In hind site, plastic filler would have worked better. The glass was to hard and cracked over time. Luckily the only paint it ever saw was primer, so no money was lost there
