Custom hood and hatch...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2440721352

Says both are custom, by the looks of the hatch; I believe him. But the hood looks really familliar, is it something I could buy? I don't have an ebay account, otherwise I would email him.

The hood is definately custom. The hood looks like the one from USBody.com http://www.usbody.com/82-92%20Camaro.htm, it's their "Twin Turbo" hood, with a custom louver grafted into the center of it. You can see the louver by doing a search for "pwdbychevy"'s car. I think this is the same one.

As for the hatch, it's a notchback/targa with a universal spoiler on the back, it's called the "scorpion". http://shop.store.yahoo.com/spiderac...scornobra.html

I believe the hood is a Cervini Twin Turbo hood.

Yep hood is a Twin Turbo Style. We picked up a used one for my sister's car for 50 bucks.... The hatch looks like a notchback. Notchback looks a little messed up where the spoiler mounts.... maybe it's just the glare in the pic. I'm sure it could be fixed up with a little bit of fiberglass and filler and maybe a new spoiler... that spoiler just looks funny. If you look how it mounts the legs actually curve inward throwing off the line coming down the notchback and doesn't line up with the body panels at all. I think it would look pretty neat with a 3 piece spoiler or that 5" 3 piece spoiler. Has a grant steering wheel and the dash pad looks like it's in fairly good shape from what I can tell in the photo.

The big question is did the guy know what he was doing when he had the motor rebuilt? What kind of parts did he use? I'm really sketchy on buying motors/cars on ebay. I'll buy parts like crazy cause I mostly know what I'm getting.

I've seen that hood available for Firebird's, and I knew it was J.C. Whitney, but I didn't bother to check if it was available for camaro's. I'm not crazy with J.C.'s online catalog. Thank you for correcting me.

I have the JC Whitney hood. There is a minor fitment issue but that will be fixed the next time I tear the car down. I love the look of the hood and many peopl have told me it makes my car look great. Just my .02.

I almost bought an 86 t/a with that hood. It's not bad looking but, it exposes elements too much on a daily driver that would need to sit outside.
The once half nice t/a now resides as a wrecked turd owned by a employee of a local junkyard.
