Does any have any information about swapping a 91 dash into a 86 Iroc. problems, extra parts, shortcuts. thinks

 

you may have a problem since the speedo on a 91 is cable driven, not an expert on this so perhaps someone else could elborate on it for you

 

I'm going to do this swap in my 84, from what I've read it looks like I'll need to get the VSS from a 92 and the buffer box to hook up to the electronic speedo. The 2 harnesses that plug into the cluster are also different, so those will need to be rewired. The diagram is posted on this forum somewhere.

Do a search on this forum, a couple people have done this before. I really wish there some more detailed instructions to what was involved though.

 

any have plans for a custom gauge cluster that will fit into the 91 dash using 86 gauges ! Any ideas......................

You want to put the 91 dash in, but use the old style gauges?

That would be just too much work, plus I hate those old round style gauge anyways. That's why I want to go to the 91-92 style, looks more modern.

My 86 dash was broke, the 91 dash is built better. I have not found any aftermarket gauges that will fit a 91 style. Everything is round.
