t-top sealings

HI!
I need some help please!
After a restoration im in need for new T-top seals to my
84`camaro.
This is not an original targa roof car,the roof is taken from a
donor car (third gen) Year: i dont know.
someone do this roof change many years ago.
I got some seals from a 87`, but they was way to wide.
My old ones is quite narrow on top, have a stamp inside telling me
"f-body and i guess a part number"
Was there any changes in seal configuration from 82`to 92`?
any ideas?
Tanks.
X-mas greetings from norway.

You actually may not have original GM tee-tops. I have C&C tee tops which came on my car. You can identify C&C by the writing on the inside rear of the tee tops. I think GM tops have the writing on another corner. The tops are not the same size and the seals will not fit. Look at your tee tops to find out the type that you have. If you need replacement rubbers let me know.

From what I understand (I could be wrong
), the T-Top cars came with 2 materials for the tops, glass and something non-glass (Sorry, I don't know what the material was). That may have something to do with it; what material are yours, glass? I'm boggled that someone swapped T-Tops into a non T-Top car, that seems like quite a feat to me! Sorry I don't know more about T-Tops
Regardless, welcome to the board

the seals i have on mine are skinny. i have C&C (Cars & Concepts) t tops on my car. Mine are also made of glass and i believe the later years used lexan for their t tops. also try to figure out how your t tops go on the car...is there a hook that hooks into the car when you pull the lever on the t top? or is there a pin? if you get enough of the information you can tell what kind of seals you need. youll probably need the skinny seals, though.

OK! thanks.
My old seals are the skinny ones,my tops are glass and
when you pull the lever to close, pins are catching holes in the roof
frame.inside the rubberseals i can read:"lower front
apillar fbody c17R / lower Bpillar" for the righthand seals.
and there was this i guess a partnr.7400428 /c1.
just checked my glasstops. not easy to read but i think it
shuld be marked: PPG, does that mean somting to you.?
hope you can tell me something.
in my country gm dealers dont grow on trees,
i dont even see a chevy every day, exept my own.
Thanks..

I dont know exactly what is written on the glass tee tops, but if the writing is on the rear of the glass on the inside corners then you have C&C tee tops. If the writing is somewhere else, then you have GM tee tops. GM tee tops use the same rubbers whether they are hook or pin, but C&C tee tops have their own individual rubbers. Btw, I am in Australia and we dont have American GM dealers either.
Try www.sunroofdoctor.com. They even show some dimensions to differentiate between the GM t-tops and the C&C t-tops. I've never verified the measurements, but I have ordered from them before.

Please when you receive the seals, let us with C&C tops know the quality of them. We all may need them one day. Thanks.

Some people here in Australia call tee tops Targa tops. Getting the right words can sometime make a big difference. I am sure most Camaros would have some type of tee tops and not Targa ones.

Most camaros?
ALL camaros were made with T-Tops and not Targa Tops..
It was never an option? Unless you do it aftermarket or specialty like a few members here are/did doing

Like I said words can be really tricky. I said that most Camaros would have some type of tee top or targa top. I didnt say that they were made with them. Remember to chose words very carefully.

Targa Tops are T-Tops without the middle brace in the middle...
Think of one long piece of glass that goes across the top.
A few thirdgen members have done a Targa Top Conversion (Fatal and 85sportcoupe) but NO camaros or firebirds came with targa tops.
many Corvettes have Targas
