Rear Hatch Alignment

Hello All,

Thanks for reading my 1st post...Question about Rear Hatch Alignment:
I've read Rear Hatch Alignment 101, but is there another way to get the hatch lined up? (like replacing struts, motor, etc.)?

My ride:
1989 IROC-Z, 350cid, 700R4, just starting the restor process...

BTW, this is a great place! I've already spent several hours in the Tech article section, thanks for all the valuable info!

the struts onlt hold it up not really align it.

what parts are off?

if its just to high in the back it could be the little rubber bump stops need to be hand screwed in some or vice versa.

umm another adjustment could be moving the hole hatch motor down i think, but that included takign the back panel off to get to it.

another way could be remove the little panel thats above you head if u sitting in the back seats and you will see the main mounting nuts/studs that hold the whole hatch to the body.

Thanks, I'll try those options...

The hatch itself is about 1/8" out from the side fins, not bad, but it's noticeable.
