1982 - No side skirts?
I am planning to buy a Trans-Am, found a sweet -89 T-top with a 305 TPI in excellent condition and a very good price, anyway I am planning to make it more KARR like(which I believe is a 1982), from the series knightrider, now I've noticed the KARR firebird has no side skirts.
Now the 89 also has side skirts, I think I would like to remove them, because the front will be removed so it can look more like the knightrider car, so the rest ought to go too to give it a more complete look.
Can anyone here tell me how much work this will be? I am a incompetent/noob when it comes to working on cars
To illustrate what I am talking aboot, eh.

You will have to weld up a few holes after you remove the gfx, If you have the car painted professionally they will fill them for you. You will also need a rear bumper off of 82-83 firebird. Other than the interior that is it, and the kitt front bumper (this isn't a stock item).
Or buy a formula with ws6 it will have all the same suspension and engine but no ground effects.
Now when you are done with this what do you want for the gfx and the bumpers?

basically as Aviator said, there will be some holes to fill on the bottom of the door. As for the rocker panel, there is a metal rail that's welded to the body of the car that the side skirt screws into. you'll have to remove that rail and fix up any damage the removal might cause to the rocker panel. I think on the 89s the ground effects for the rear bumper were built in and can't be removed. So that's why aviator said you'll have to replace it.
