what should i expect to pay?......

My T/A came out of the factory silver and i want to paint it the factory (or close enough) silver again. *tired of purple*

how much paint will i need?
What brand/type should i use?
what's paint cost these days?


my buddy has all the equipment to do a pro-job so it's all in his hands. i just need to pick up the paint and clearcoat and whatever else he needs.

If you don't mind using the cheaper ppg line, Omni PPG, it's actually pretty cheap. A gallon of each will be more than enough. I had bought a quart of clear, a quart of color, reducer and hardener for $77. I'm not sure of the exact price of a gallon but your not going to pay anymore than between $200 and $300.

DuPont all the way man, nothing else.

Gallon of color, same for clear, the clear needs activator.

price, depends on the color composure. Go to your local paint store and talk to the guy at the counter.

I would think you'd need some primer and sealer as well. Sherwin Williams makes a non-sandable sealer that's cheap and it has no shelf life which is great. If the paint is in decent shape then you may not need primer, but I recommend it just to make sure.

And the sealer really helps so that if there is any purple left on the car, that it doesnt bleed through on a light color such as silver. It also helps hold everything to the car so there's no lifting later on.

All of your supplies shouldn't cost over 300 dollars.
