secure hood pins
Allright heres the deal, this is a street driven car, no longer have the hood latching device, and i need hood pins to secure the hood down.
The issue is how do i keep the hood locked down? The only locking hood pins ive seen are not meant to hold the hood down just for show purposes, but the pin type is no good because i dont want people to be able to just open my hood by pullin a pin out.
What can i do?

do like what i got.. get the pin kind, but the locking ones. it's not a big pin with a hole in it for that little metal peice, it's an actual lock. you have a rod that goes into the frame, and has a like.. latch type deal on the top of it. then you have a lock peice, you simply slide the lock peice in, turn, and vualla! it's locked & very secure.
i've been using mine for.. few months now.. no problems.. and they look freaking baddonkey(not using the asprin word).. i love how they look... but i do have a latch still... i found it just.. worked better & made the hood fit better, strange how that works.
you can pick them up at pepboys, or autozone. where the muscle car stuff is at. you've got the regular pins, then these... regular are about 5-6 bucks i think.. these, the price jumps up to about 20 bucks.
it's about a 20 minute install if you have the right tools... if you don't, then you'r gonna be drilling for a bit... even if you get the hole in the right place... but.. word of advice.. check twice, and make the hole a little larger than the lock itself(our hoods aren't parallel with the pins.. remember? ... so they need alittle movement.
sorry for the long explination, but i hope it'll help ya, :-)

You really have no good options. My cowl had 4 1/2" pins with torsion pins...I searched everywhere for a lock, the only thing I could think of was to use the pins I had and add the locking pins too. I decided it would look horrible and ended up riveting the hood latching mechanism back on, adding spacers on the k-member until the stock hood fit, then cutting the front coils so it was close to stock ride height, total PITA.
