Have already done the searches-no luck.I found a good deal on a 89 gta 5.7.Only problem is the leaky t-tops have rusted out the a-pillars pretty bad.Is this realistically repairable or am I better off to keep looking?

 

Anything is pretty much repairable it just depends on how much money you want to spend. How bad does the rust look?? Is it just surface rust or has it weakened the metal quite a bit? This area is commonly rusted on many thirdgens including mine.

If the price is right and the pillar doesnt seem too bad though, I would consider taking it, if thats what you want.

 

rust is pretty bad,holes so big you can put your finger through.

 

It's fixable. I had to get mine redone. Couldn't give you a price range for repair though cause I had a friend do it. Bottom line is, anything is repairable. Just depends on what you're willing to spend.

 

yeah, the problem really is, is where has the rust spread to. it could be bad enough to have of (more than likely) gone behind your windshield. Which you will definitely want to have it removed and sandblasted. or rust could be behind the headliner and on that front part of your roof. but if that's the only rust, be considered lucky. post some pics and I'll be able to tell you if you can fix it yourself and how to.
