Carpet Die.....
alright guys, just got back from walmart with 3 yards of black vinyl, and 1 yard of black fur(dont ask, not done yet). Since the new theme will be black, i wanna die the carpet. The only die they had seemed to me that it was the kind you put in the wash, liquid concetrade. My question is, can i put theis in a spray bottle, spray it on, ansd then wash it out? Or is this what your supposed to do?

From What i hear, just mix it in a bucket, then pour it on the carpet and scrub it in with a scrubby brush (Like for washing cars). Basically let it dry in the carpet. Wash it out later and let it dry really good. Be sure to wash and dry the carpet really well before you start. I have a buddy that did it in his 68 Chevelle, he used Rit black dye. I will be doing my 88 convert in the next couple months. keep me posted on how it turns out.

I used Dupont Fabric and Vinyl spray on dye.
Worked damn good, you just need to do touch up every now and then. But cheaper then a new carpet (which I still plan on buying sooner or later).

Keep me up on the door panels. too. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to do mine. I love flames cut into the panel, I'm sure I'll incorporate that somehow.

Just go down to the grocery store and get some Rit dye. Youll need about 5 packs to do the carpet and make it look good. Get an old windex bottle, use about one pack of dye per bottle of hot water, and spray it on. I did this on my carpet that was all faded, it worked great. Im just about done with my total interior restoration and ill have pics when i post about it.

already done. Used tiny spray bottle and the liquid die form. Only needed 2 bottles. which mean 4 packs of the little boxes.

alright, that isn't so bad. btw, your door panels turned out better than i thought they would after seeing them with the vinyl loose. If I were you though, I would have tried to put some more character into them by making some vertical creases in the vinyl or something. Being totally flat makes them look kind of boring, but stll much better than plain old gray.

You want your carpet to die? Atleast give it a chance to freshen up with some dye before you kill it, eh?
