opinion swapping gfx now or later?

I don't plan on getting my car painted for a year or so but I just happened to get a great deal on a set of 91-92 GFX. Right now they are primer gray with the rear bumper that is still Quasar blue.

I do like to drive my car around but the "bug" has bitten me and I want to get some of the car work out of the way.

This isn't really a "would it look *******" but how odd do you really think it'd look? Part of my want to do this is because I'd like to recoup some of my money by selling my stock '87 IROC GFX and therefore, they obviously have to come off.

good score. Im also in the market for some 91-92 gfx If you are not going to be painting your car anytime soon then I would just leave them off till you get close to when your getting your car painted. lol right now my brown Z has black doors, black high rise spoiler, white decklid, black gas cap and silver gfx lol. But im going to be getting my car painted in a month or two so its all good I could care less what other people think. but who knows maybe it will look good

Since I'm changing body colors completely I'm guess the GFX will ultimately be coming off anyway, right? As well as nose and bumper...

I guess one thing I'm worried about is since I have to drill holes for the newer GFX, what will protect them from rusting out?

Yeah if your changing colors it would be a good idea to have the gfx, nose and rear bumper off.

I'm still debating how far I want to tear the car down. I want the body, door jambs, as well as the complete engine bay painted. I'm seeing a lot of people who are tearing the car almost all the way down to change color and I'm thinking that's the route I'd like to go. I don't want a show quality car, but I'd really like something to be VERY proud of.

Do the trunk area too. If you have the time you could take the interior out Its not hard at all. What color are you painting your car?
