Digital ODO (4th gen dash swap) - need quick answer!!
I'm buying a dash from a guy - but he thinks I should get the gauge cluster from a '93-'96, so I don't have to worry about the ODO. I have a 5.7l 350cuin TBI engine - would it be possible to hook up a digi ODO to my engine or do you need a special computer chip in the engine for that??
If I can, there's a really nice pair of reverse glow gauges I want to get - but the auction ends in 2 hrs - so a quick reply would be helpful.
An estimate of cost/parts would be great too!! THANKS!!

the digital odo will work... but... from what i am seeing from others that did it is that to get the odo to work your trip meter will reset every time you turn the car off.. nonetheless the digital odo will still work... i have a complete 98 camaro interior that i am going to put in mine unless a person that was interested still wants to buy it.. and it has the odo.. so if he doesnt buy the setup from me, then i will be doing it.. .. anyway.. hope that helps some.. and i will see if i can find the wireing to make it work.

i figured the same thing.. but looking at schematics.. it looks like it is internal some how and you need all the sensors and computer from the 98 and up cars to get it right.. but i could be missing something ...

Well that kinda sux
I guess I'll just stick with the 93-96 gauges then... then I don't have to really even modify anything, just move my old odo over.
