taking apart door panels?

taking apart door panels?

im wanting to take apart my door panels and tighten everything down becuz they rattle a lot, where are the bolts to get them off? are they just in the arm rest and door lock pieces?

sure are. but remember, take the top trim off carefully, must have the window down. and some of those screws on the plastic where the door handle is are fake.

my 86 sc has 2 in very back of lock plate that are real one under the removeable piece right behind were the armrest meets the lock plate and that one in the arm rest and 2 on bottom of it the window crank lock clip, u got to remove, and thoose lil plastic clips all way round the door accept on top but for top just roll window down as mentioned above push in towards window or outside or car and slide the top rail and dor panel upwards together.
on drivers side u got a couple screws by the mirror remote thingy and then got a flat piece metal to pop off holding in the mirror remote.

Once you're in there, you might consider cleaning the power locks and window tracks, then relubing with white grease. Also, check the FAQ link for Door/Window rattles, etc.

good idea james.
i had mine goin back on yesterday and i used some white lithium grease to lube up my lock mechanisms and everything.

Also you'll probably have to replace quite a few inf not all of the plastic retainers around the panel. theyre pretty spendy. I think there are 13 on each door panel.
