replacing rubber seal below window

how easy is it to replace the black strip of rubber that runs along the top of the door (at the bottom of the window)? like if you're at the door handle, it's the black piece of rubber trim like 4 inches above running along the top of the door

i have some overspray from the last owners paint job and want to replace them. what are these even called so i can look to buy them? they wouldn't be included in a weather-stripping kit would they?

window sealing strips (or sweeps), $30 each.

Window needs to be down.

Take off the interior parts (armrest, trim panels, door panel, triangle pieces too).

The strip is held in place by Pozi screws, remove them. I can't remember how many. (Pozi looks like a phillips, but it is flat on the bottom instead of pointed. You can struggle thru it with a #1 Phillips though).

Pull out the old one, place the new one on and refasten.

Install all the other stuff.

It is pretty easy. While you have all that stuff off, lubricate the pivot points for the actuation rods for the locks and lube the window mechanism track and rollers.

It will make a huge difference in the look of your car.

They could be included in a kit with other door strips. I know thirdgen resource sells them separately, but I don't know about the kit.

thanks alot....yeah it does affect how the car looks alot. on my driver side there is overspray on them and they're chipped in some areas, so it looks sloppy having the black seal contrasting w/ the white paint and in a real uneven line.

it should be a crime for what they charge for weatherstripping. the little strip i need? like 3 feet of 2 in. wide rubber is $60 per pair. i thought i'd go ahead and replace the inside window seal while i was at it...$170 per set.

and i dont need a t-top kit, but $265? give me a break

guess i'll be hittin up the junkyard...
