i need to know what prior year steering columns will fit my 91 firebird. primarily late '80s, 87-89. mine got destroyed by someone trying to steal mine, and i plan on going to a removable wheel, so the no airbag isn't an issue. thanks for the info.

 

For reference - My 91 bird was also broken into and the steering column was smashed, as was the lock cylinder, and turn signal.

I decided becuase it was the steering column I'd better not mess with it. . .and pay the price a GM dealer would charge to make it good again.

so in all -- about 8-10 days wait and 500 bucks for the job well done. Hope this helps ya.

I just put a 92 column in an 89 (iroc) same thing with the exception of the air bag

I dont think you would have a problem using any third gen column
from what I have seen they are interchangable.
