The trick in home flooing it to use a heat gun (or hair dryer) to warm/fluidize the wax and dab it to wick it into a rag or paper towel. Don't wipe as you'll just smear it.
Unfortunately (with home plush carpet), you can't really completely get rid of it but, cosmetically, you can make it fairly unnoticable. Since auto carpet is fairly thin and nylon, it may take the wax fully out.
Just my opinion though...

Place a [aper towel over it, then hold an iron over it. You have to be careful not to catch the paper towel on fire, but I've never done it. It melts the wax and soaks it up. It'll take a few tries but it works.

With a heat gun (or iron), start low and work warmer (or don't concentrate the heat to one pojnt)... wax melts easier/sooner than the nylon the carpet is made from.
With the iron, the paper towel (or rag) will insulate the carpet from scorching/melting.
