touching up paint

i gotta few chips and light scratches in my paint so i was curious if anybody could point me to a website that explains how to do touch up work or if somebody could just post some directions that could help me out on this thread, it would be much appreciated thx.

depends on what your doing here....any detailed pics of the problem areas?

if you can catch the scratch with a fingernail then it needs to be painted or color sanded. otherwise a polish compound should do it...start as fine as possible and work your way up. you might want to see a professional as certain compounds only work when they are heated using power tools which can in turn burn through your paint if you dont' know what you are doing.

for touch up spots this depends on the size but what i found works well for me is to use toothpicks. single of course. i use the skinny end to add paint and work in small amounts on the chipped area til it is at my liking. i use a cotton swab (wet of course) as a back up plan.......essentially an eraser.....if i use to much paint.

cheap and effective ways to solve your problem. just make sure the chips are rust free so it doesn't eat away at the rest of your paint and you should be fine!
