What can I use to preserve and protect my leather steering wheel?
Hi. I have 1991 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with a leather steering wheel, auto shift ****, and e-brake handle. I am posting to find out if what products are available to preserve and protect my steering wheel. Your responses would be appreciated. Thank you.
Is Lexol a good product for protecting leahter?
Hi. I bought Lexol leather conditioner. Has anyone had good results with this product? I am also open to any other products that gives better results. Your responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
if your wheel is falling apart then trying these products isn't a bad idea. stay away from silicone based products as well as anything that is made by armorall and similar setups.
if your wheel is in great condition... i.e. new or very low mileage then keeping it clean with soap and water solution and making sure it isnt in direct sun will be enough.
it's the combination of sun, continuous wear on certain positions (you 12 o'clockers know what i'm talking about) and using products that dry the product out.

If your wheel is in good condition, but faded from sun light then use shoe polish. That is all I use on my steering wheel, shift ****, and e brake.
