Hood Damage-Dry Ice?

Who or what company takes out massive amounts like 20 or so dents in a hood from hail damge, for really cheap? Also has anyone ever heard of dry ice to take out hail damage, if so does it really work?

I tried to get that fixed before. I was told by a dent puller that I shouldn't bother, because it might crack the paint since it is 17 years old. Also the dry ice thing has to be done withing a day or 2 of the hail damage.

Metal doesn't a working window so to speak. It's not like it cures after it been bent/stretched (hail ding) . Time isn't the issue. The dry ice is about shrinking the metal which would have to be heated first to super cool it and shrink it beyond normal quenching. Dry ice is an alternative to a shrinking hammer & dolly (or vice-versa) when you don't have the access to do so. It doesn't always work and can cause other problems.
Just my opinion though.....

Dry ice is a myth. Just as much as heating the metal is. I took an old hood, put a small dent in it, heated it up and the dent shrunk. It didn't disappear, but it shrunk. The problem is that when it cooled, the original dent was back, but with discolored paint now.

The cheapest way to get this fixed is with Paintless Dent Removal. If the dents aren't so severe that replacing the hood is an option, then PDR can make them disappear and you'll never know they were there.

Do not let anyone tell you that dry ice or heat will work. The metal's shape has been altered and needs to be massaged back into it's original shape.
