Painting the early steering wheel
I'm kinda torn up as to what to do with this thing. When I got it it had spots of rust, since then I've cleaned it and spray it with some silver paint to keep iut from rusting. Of course, it doesn't look too great up close.
My 2 ideas are:
- Paint it black as it was originally. Since I know what this looks like, I know I'll definitely like this.
- Paint it white to match the body of the car. I've never seen one that looks like that but I think it'll look good. Do I then clear coat it to make it shiny like the body or no clear coat to give it the satin look like the black wheel
Any other suggestions welcome.
In the pic its silver but I expect the white would look close to that.

I've got a Grant Challenger wheel in my car that the spokes match the car and it looks wicked. It's just enough body color inside to really make it pop, but not so much that you think you're in The Fast & The Furious. I say paint it to match your car.

I finally got around to it tonight, and I must say it looks really nice body color. Once I sand it a little and throw clear on it it should look great.
The only thing that sucks is its not gonna be the greatest job because taping off the leather turned out to be not so easy. However it looks pretty good until you get too close.
Maybe this coming winter I'll take the leather off, paint it then have the wheel rewrapped.

I'm curious to know how it looks...I think I would of gone with black, but it should look interesting in a nice glossy white. I like your floormats by the way....where did you get them?
