85-90 T/A gfx

I did a search and still can't find the info I need.Could someone please help?I have a 83 T/A that I want to put the 85-90 ground effects on.The problem I have is that I can't find the part number for the metal support that is spot welded to the rocker panel from the factory. There are two metal supports per side, one welded to the rocker and another that bolts to it(#10037110).I have called several dealers and they don't show the piece that is welded to the rocker panel, they just show the second piece 10037110 witch is discontinued. Also was wondering if someone knows were I might be able to find the second(10037110)support?I have spent hours at the junk yards trying to find the second metal support only to break the studs off when taking them off.Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

i doubt that the welded piece would be available from the dealer any more either. Some people have made their own brackets to hold ground effects onto a car that never had them so you can do a search and see how they did it. Basically, I think they just used a standard L-bracket wherever a screw went. Also, if you have an 83 TA doesnt it already have brackets for ground effects? good luck

Thanks for the reply JeremyNYR.My 1983 T/A does't has the ground effects on it.It has the little fiberglass pieces in front of the tires that are barely noticable(red car with black on the bottom).I guess I could go to the junk yard and drill out the spot welds that hold the support on.That just seems like alot of work for a piece that probally would cost about 5 or 10 bucks.I was thinking that if I had the part number I would be able to find them somewhere even if they were discontinued from GM.Does anyone out there have a old GM parts book?

Save yourself some $$ and just buy 2 pieces 1.5-2" x 1/8" x 4' flat bar and weld it to the rocker.
IIRC the stock piece (when it was available) was around $60-70 per side.
If you're determined to have the stock pieces, try using the link in my sig to find your #

I would just hit the salvage yard with a drill to drill out the spot welds from the donor car.

Just do one small thing when ya get them on....Drill small holes in the bottom of the Gnd FX to let water out...water gets in & can't get back out....I have bad rust damage I need to fix because of this. Just so it don't happen to anyone else.
