can't open my hood

The only way I can open my hood is if someone is at the front of the car pulling up on it. It was working fine until I brought the car into a shop to have it worked on.

When I pull on the hood release lever it makes a popping sound but the mechanism doesn't release the hood.

Anyone have this problem? How did you fix it?

Gonna give that a try. I noticed that popping the hood and then grabbing it from the side and lifting while I hit teh center of the hood it pops.

those latches aren't cheap. i paied 68 bucks for one from GM. figures... the cable and handle come in a package togeather for 19 bucks. i would try greasing the latch also. maybe replace the hood spring also. i'm going to replace my spring and safty latch when my new hood arrives.
