body people...need advice on sealant

ok, carpet is out and I am banging the floor plug back down on the passenger side at the front (some idiot along the way put a jack there and dented it a bit). After banging it back down I want to seal it and I also want to take off some of the tar-like sealant that is by the kickpanel (where the floor meets the rocker) in the same area because it is old and cracking a bit. This side of the floor gets pretty darn warm from the cat.

My question is what can I use? I have Dominion Sure Seal adhesive/sealant in a caulking tube right now (red tube) that I used on other areas. Will this be fine in this high-heat area or do I need something special??

I would keep using what you've been using. I am 90% sure all of the stock sealent on the body is al the same material.

i think there is at least 2 kinds on my car but not 100% sure. This stuff is black and tarry in appearance and I have seen some other stuff painted that is pinky/ yellowy when you chip it off (and it seems harder than the black stuff).
