Filling In Emblems, Shaving, Need Help :)
Hey I did a search and surprisingly didn't find much on the topic, but I want to fill in all the emblems.
The nose emblem - Just want to fill this in so it looks like it never had a camaro emblem there. What would I use? Some type of fiberglass filler?
The Ground Effect Emblems - Now this one seems a lot harder because you have to put screws through behind the sticker. So could I just make some kind of replacement that sits more flush to the car, or just paint over the stickers or what?
The Rear - Without the sticker it's not even that bad looking, but it still has a somewhat of a chevy bowtie looking thing in the rear. What I'd want to do is just fill it in so it's a solid stripe all the way across, so same thing as the nose.
And are these things that a person with no fiberglass experience or body work could do? I'm willing to learn new things, and can be pretty crafty, just no past experience.
Thanks

I did all mine with regular bondo last year when I was in a rush to paint my car...I used fiberglass on my antenna hole and the rest was just bondo...Front nose still looks perfect...I noticed some crackin on the side ground effects, I think its mainly cause I did them so quick If I would've worked it out more I think I would've been fine. I probably should've used some fiberglass reinforced filler, That would've done the trick on the side peices.

use gorilla hair, or fiberglass is what it is, thats what i used on my emblem hole, go to my car domain site, not much there, havent updated in ages, but you hav a few pics of how to do it on there,
Don't use bondo, don't use fiberglass.

If u have a 82 to 90 camaro for the gfx u can use filler but make sure all the paint is off even in the hard to sand places.bondo does not stick to paint. If it a 91 92 gfx go to a autobody supply store. And get some kind of bumper repair. At the shop i work at we use a brand by evercoat. But they prettymuch work all the same. And than use that on the front and back bumper.U do not want to use bondo or fiberglass on the bumpers.Once bondo dries its as hard as a rock (no flex)..

Your exactly right...The stuff that deadbird said would work great on the nose emblem...Alot better then bondo which I used cause I was in a hurry....But I havent run into anything so there is no flexing in my nose so its doin allright...But if you have 82-90 Gfx some glass reinforced filler will be fine...Since the whole piece is glass anyway!
