How do I mount switch in ashtray?

I am wiring up LED's in my 89 trans am. I have heard that you can mount a switch in the ashtray. How do you do this?

I took the actual ashtray out and cut out a fited piece of plexiglass to fit in there, then cut out holes for 4 of my switches, need to still paint it to blend in

I took my ashtray out, cut a piece of aluminum out to fit perfectly, drilled all the necessary holes, epoxied it from the underside, and wired it up. As simple as that....and you can always use your imagination. This is my switch panel for my electronic exhaust cutout
