Want to get rid of dual needle 85mph speedo...

I still have the stock kph, mph speedo in my '83....

I want to change to a 145 mph speedo. I see some listed as cable driven (like mine) with cruise control.

Will this replace my 85 mph speedo with no mods required??

Any mechanical speedometer will fit, regardless of whether it has cruise or not. You'll have to make sure that the trip odometer return stalk is in the same location, or else get the right lens to fit when you swap.

There was an exact-fit 140mph "Z28" speedometer made for your car('82-'84). I put one in my 1983 Z28.

IROCZDAVE has one available on his website, and it's got very low mileage--interestingly, almost the exact mileage I remember mine having when it was stolen 18 years ago. Scroll about half-way down his page, and you'll come to it:

That has a tapered needle like the rest of your instruments, as you can see in the pictures on the site. Stock speedometers from 85 to 90 will have stepped needles.

Hey!! Thanks for the info!

I assume you're referring to the "aftermaket" 140 mph speedo on the site? My trip reset button is on the side like the one in the ad, so it looks like it'll work nice. I'll get one!

I'll add it to my many "projects" on the car for the winter!
