Detailed camaro drip rail removal
I pulled the drip rails off on my 91 the other day becasue it is going to the body guy on monday. I searched and searched for how to get to them and pull em off and found nothing, so i took pics and noted how they came off for the guys that were considering doing it.
1. stick a screw driver or i had a little phenolic deal into the gap between the weather strip and the weather strip channel, slowly work down the strip, it is glued and will rip if you go to fast, i am keeping my strippign for now and only got one little tear, with teh strippign down it will expose the weatherstrip channel. (pic1)
2. remove the 10 philips screws from the weather strip channel and slowly peel off the channel, it has a foam type tape on hte back so it takes some work to get it loose.
3. once the channel is out there are 5 tabs for teh drip rail, they are held on by double sided tape carefully pry up on them to peel them off then remove drip rail (pic2)
Took me about 45 minutes to do both of them that was taking everything out and re-gluing the weather stripping back in place and i am pleased with the results gives a much cleaner look on top of the car, i doubt they will be back on any time soon. Hope this helps some guys.

Have you tried spraying water at the window yet to see if it's a good seal. Without the channel I wouldn't think it would stick/seal too well. You should look into getting a firebird weather stripping channel. Should be the same and i'm 99% sure firebirds don't have the drip rail.
But, I agree, does look better without it. Also, your tint looks awesome, what precent is that?

What about the back side "drip rail" that holds the weatherstripping to the B pillar? Can you just zip the outer rail off with a dremel and still leave enough to attach the weatherstripping to?
I know the top channel and drip rail are on two different parts but the side is just one piece.
I'm trying to get pictures and descriptions before I do this. Thanks.
