i just used a regular piece of sheet metal for mine..something that you can bend but yet is sturdy

I used 20 Ga(.035") for most of my floorboard/interior/underhood
and 22GA(.029) for everything else(anything that needed to be formed)
Keep in mind that any gage of sheetmetal can vary in thickness by up to .003 IIRC

Engine: SPDC 360 MAF EFI /w a Holley Stealth Ram
Transmission: T5 untill it blows up from to much torque
Axle/Gears: Ford 9" /w auburn pro & 3.89's
I used 18 guage for the wheel wells(measured with a micrometer) and 20 for the floorboards. If your talking about exterior panels. There is a noticable difference in the metal thickness of your doors compared to your 1/4 panels.
