strut tower trashed
strut tower trashed
The driver side strut tower in my 88 formula has completely rusted through. The entire top portion has shifted towards the engine and is braced against the control arm. My tire is now sitting at almost a 45% angle to the ground. I was just wondering what sort of options you guys think I have. Some people have told me that I should just junk it. I would hate to do that. Any idea what sort of money I am looking at for a shop to fix this?

Part it out- then junk it.
If the strut tower is that bad, I'm sure the rest of the car isn't mint either. I'd look in the classifieds for a nicer one instead of spending a ton of money to patch up a rustbucket with structural damage.

yeah man i used to have an 83 Z that was cloned to a 91/92 Z but the drivers side strut tower was rusted threw and ready to go at any time.. and along with that the wheel wells were going and the floor pans along with other hidden spots so i got rid of it while i still could when it still looked decent.... but if the rest of the body is in good shape then id cut out the strut towers out of another junk ar and weld them into your car atleast i have herd of peeps doing that before.
