Flat Black Options, Chalkboard paint?
I have had it with the 91's delamination (paint falling off) and am ready to paint the maro flat black, to go with its stealth fighter body lines. Of course I'll probably do it with a rattle can, but want to know my options.
Questions:
Would the chalkboard paint they sell work, more importantly last more than a few months? Internationals paint is brush on. ?? Although I gave seen it in a rattle can.

(Then I could express myself on it, excuse me, give lessons on my mobile classroom, with chalk. Then wash em off.
If not what paint to use?
Am I going to have to sand down the entire car? Down to the metal? The primer hasn't delaminated.
Has anyone done this and had it come out decent? pics?
Another winter/rainy season will change it's appeance from a Monet to a beater.
Thanks peoples

Just because sport compact car did it with their Project STi, doesn't mean its a good idea.
Rattle can jobs are IMMENSELY difficult to spray evenly, the nozzles on the cans are cheap. Also, you switch cans every ten minutes or so, and the spray characteristics vary alot between cans. So expect lots of waves and uneveness in your paint job. Secondly, you think you're paint is in bad shape right now? Wait til the only protection on the metal of the car is primer and spray paint. It will be a rusted hulk in a year or two.
However, I know you wanted information, so if you are intent on doing this and to hell with reason, then sand down your finish with 600 grit sandpaper til it is completely dull, but not through to the metal. You just want to scuff it so the paint will adhere. Throw the cans in warm (NOT HOT!!!!) water to heat them slightly, which may help the spray profile, then tape off all your trim, emblems, gaps, and windows . Next, paint one body panel at a time, with light, even coats. Expect to spray at least three times.
Again, I DO NOT recommend doing this,. it is a bad idea for many many reasons. A body shop can paint your car using flat black real paint, and it will be good as new just an "interesting" color. If you really want this, then go to a shop and do it right.
