louver brackets
Does anyone know what glue was used to hold the louver brackets to the rear hatch glass? I took mine off because i needed to touch them up and they were rattling, so I need to know how to get those brackets glued back down. I've got the nice smooth factory louvers, not the aftermarket garbage, if that makes any difference.

on my aftermarket ones i used some 3m adhesive tape, cause the origina came off a few brackets, i tried this glass adhesive that the auto shop guy said was the only stuff i should used on it, and that stuff failed in a few days on me, i even clamped it down and it seemed solid, anyways i used some 3m tape styled adhesive, i think you want somethign that is preassure sensitive, so as soon as you press it down its stuck on there, if you want to know the exact product ill check it when go home from college later this weekend

Mine from the factory had the thick tape like stuff. I'd use the 3M emblem tape, dark stuff with the red plastic tear off backing. Really the best I've found. Don't lose a clip or stud, probably never find a replacement.

The factory louver units do use a two sided tape to stick down four of the eight brackets to the glass. The other four clip to the metal molding around the hatch. As to finding replacement brackets and the little quarter turn hold down studs, check out www.collectorsautosupply.com. They seem to have purchased all the remaining new old stock louver components, and "cornered the market " on factory louver parts. They have factory replacement brackets, quarter turn hold down studs, and prop rods. You can search their on line catalog with the OE part numbers. They are quite pricey though.
