Turn off email notifications... it's causing problems at the moment.
I think you're going to have a bit of a hard time. You have to wire everything up even if you do get a grid on the glass. Your best bet would be to take the complete hatch and the terminal setup attached to the body panels in the trunk of a donor car. A junkyard is the first place I'd look if you have one near you. If not, find a really cheap firebird for sale locally and swap the parts you need. You will need the rear interior trim panel as well, so try to find the same interior color as yours.

What I've noticed on 82-84 Firebird's (dont know about the 85+ or Camaros) is that they have the defrost switch connector behind the plastic panel where the switch would be.
I don't know if it has the wiring all the way to the back though.
Just something to look into.
