Removing rear seats and making it look natural?

I have these back seats and I started thinking, they gotta weigh at least 80lbs....and I have never had anyone sit in the back...hm....

Is there anyway to remove them and make it look like they were never there?

if you have an 86 ->, there is a bar sticking out of the trans tunnel & holes in the carpet, you'd have to pull out the carpet, cut off the bar & replace the carpet with one from an 83, then you'd have to fill in/ cover over the holes for the seatbelts & seatback latches& plug the holes for the rear seatbelt reciever bolts.
Even then it would look dumb because you'd have a big empty spot in you car

in my 89 rs i pulled the seats out and just took out the seat belts, it looked fine except the two big brackets that hold the bottom part of the seats in.i didnt have that bar. that bar is only their if you have split seats. my new iroc has that bar and split seats, though i swapped a full seat from my old RS into it.

but ya the seats weigh not that much at all its all foam almost lighter then air ^_^

the rear of the seat can easily be removed and look "normal"

the bottoms are nothing but foam covered in either leather or cloth... thats it.

combined they weigh almost nothing.

what i reccomend when people ask me this, is that they remove the back half, but leave the seat bottoms..

not only does this retain a clean, finished look, but if/when someone does sit back there, they have more headroom.
