My door skin was really wavy and with the help of lots bondo I was able to make it smooth. Now I've decided I want to keep the car for a while and I do not like the idea of having so much bondo. So would I be better off replacing the skin or the complete door. Also how much should I expect to pay for the replacement of the skin with no paint.
Thanks

Try here http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/8292cam.html They list a door skin but no price. They also list a lower door skin for $20.

How much bondo are we talkin'? The reality is, If you do a skin... Chances are you'll have bondo on the outer edges any ways.
Maybe you just want to spend some more time bumpin' the panel prior to finishing with icing.
"If the repair is over good steel, it will not fail, Unless it gets hit or compromised there again. Bondo, for lack of a better term, gets a bad rap, 'cause people were packin' rust holes full o' the s##t."
That is the method I describe every repair vs. replace to all my customers.
(yes, the same holds true for MY vehicles.)

there was alot, about 1/4" in some places. It looks like the door was hit a repaired with bondo several times. Seems like the mirror was ripped off once and the there was a huge crease along the middle. now it is smooth but there is a larger gap between the skin and the glass/rubber around the mirror than there should be.
I'm ok with a little bondo, but this is alot. So am I better off replacing the door or just the skin? How much should I expect to pay to have someone repace the skin versus buying a used door?

It's probably a trade off then, A non-professional can change a door, or even paint and change a door. But a door is a little more expensive.
It takes some knowledge and experience to change a skin...and more labor intensive

If the damage was that extensive you had better just replace the door. I'd bet that the underlying structure of the door was damaged in whatever accident it was in and I wouldn't trust it.Originally posted by gmendoza

You will not find a passenger door skin ANYWHERE. There is a thread a while back where I asked for help finding a new skin...lots of people made good suggestions, but they are out of manufacture and there is NO aftermarket ones being made. My insurance was even going to pay for it, but after a long LONG search I had to settle for bondo
Not to discourage, just trying to save you some time.
