Can you get a decal or something for the shift console. You know, the numbers that tell you the shift sequence. What do you do when yours has worn completely off?

It's a problem when I get to fifth gear and pulled the shifter down for some reason my car starts to spin and jump all over the road, then little aluminum pieces fly all around the roadway! what causes this?
