Painting fenders

Hi guys,

My Z has some blemishes on the front and rear bumpers, mostly from people bumping during parking but a couple rock scrapes on the front lower.

My question is whether I can sand it down a bit and prime/paint them?? If I use something like duplicolor exact match paint will it look blended with the rest of the car? Anyone try this?

I'm trying to save the big bucks of the autobody shop.
Thanks!

well if the paint looks fairly decent it shouldn't be a big deal about priming and painting when u paint make sure to use a flex additive or else the paint will spider-web or crack and ask whoever u get the paint from on how to use that cuz it might be different from each paint brand.....but it isn't that hard make sure u get a dual action sander and don't sand all the way to bare metal just get most of the paint off, and paint with a good enough air compressor and spray gun, mask things that need to be, and wear some type of respritory mask, happy shooting

Someone keyed my quarter panel on my 88 IROC. I took some #400 sandpaper and feathered out the paint and hit it with duplicolor and and used some duplicolor clear coat. I put several coats of clear on it and then wet-sanded it. I buffed it with a mild compound and waxed it. It turned out perfect.
I would think the same could be done on your bumpers as long as you feather the outlining areas to blend.
