Shaving Gas cap Door ?
What guage sheet metal should I use. also I am installing a fuel Cell and what guage sheet metal should be used to Finish Interior Floor around fuel cell

Car: 55 Chevy (the only one that counts), 80 TA, 85 TA, 87 FB
Engine: BBC, BBC, SBC, none
Transmission: M-22, TH400, TH350, none
22-24 ga. will work. My vote would be 22 ga.

Most body sheetmetal is 20ga which, is what i would try to stick with. 22ga would be min. and 24ga... might as well glue tinfoil over the cap opening

I just got a junk door form a junk yard. was badly mess up so they just let me cut off the Outer skin. Just cut my pattern out of it!

what i'm going to do is take an aircraft style locking fuel door assy from a sport bike and cut it into the factory fuel door. after it's done, weld it on to the body and fill smooth. that way i can retain my factory stock local of the new fuel door. looks good too.
