Asking about how much a paint job will cost is an impossible question to answer. This is why bodyshops write estimates and not exacts. They cannot predict what they will find wrong or right with your car until they tear into it. A good responsible shop will (should) contact you if something comes up that could cost you more so you can say yes, fix it or no, don't. Some places will try to inflate cost because with a complete paint job things are easy to hide.
Macco is like fast food. Want something OK and fast with little cost, go to a fast food joint. Now if you want a great meal, time to sit back and get some fantastic service with more cost. go to a steak house. Bottom line Macco doesn't always (rarely does) a quality job. Why pay any money for something that doesn't have the quality you deserve?
First, check with a shops that does restorations, second, check with collision repair shops, third, maybe an induvidual that does restorations and last, very last, a Macco type place. Check MANY places, SHOP AROUND, and research each place you can regarding jobs they have done in the past. Good Luck!!

Well, look at it this way......lets say our body is in good overall shape. Fix the little dings yourself, remove everything you can, and take it to Maaco. 300 dollars and a few days later and you've got a fresh paint job that will look good for a while. If your keeping the car for a few years and its a daily driver, and you've got mismatched body panels right now, it will look a LOT better. On the other hand, if your picky about every little imperfection and want to have a car that really draws a lot of attention, you probably wont be happy with Maaco.
