Hood Modifications

On the 84 Camaro hood, there are plates covering two slots in the middle of the hood. I want to to modify the air intake to have mechanical flaps in places of those two plates and divert the air intake from the pront of the car... Has anybody done this??? Does anyone know where I can order the parts???

You could try looking for the parts for an 82-84 crossfire car, they had this from the factory.

I'm pretty sure that the firebirds with the powerbulge hood had some sort of mechanical flap that opened when the throttle was pressed something like 1/2 or 2/3s the way down. You might want to start looking into that system and fitting it to your camaro.

That was an option on the 82-84 cross-fire cars. Those hoods look the same as the one you have and are made of 'glass. They are still around, you just need to look. The 'glass hoods had a problem with seperating so you need to look for that. Maybe someone here has one they would sell. Hope this helps.

The cross fire was only an option from 82-83. Those hoods are pretty hard to find...

Guess me and my bro got lucky about a month ago when we scored one from the local 'yard for $20. One small crack and bad paint is all thats wrong with it.
