Hard-top to T-Top?
Has anyone ever taken a hard top and put t-tops on it? If so, other than all the obvious parts, is there anything special or necessary to buy? Is there a thread on this? Could I take parts from a junked bird with t-tops and put it in mine?

Yes, it can be done. One of the Knight Rider conversion places advertised it but from what I remember it was expensive. I have sen someone do it to their own 4th gen, and that turned out very well. If I remember correctly he just went to the junk yard and took all the parts off a wrecked car then cut the roof off his own. I would try it out on a car...just so long as it wasn't my pride and joy as it could turn into a disaster if you are not careful.

Found the web page, I knew I had posted it for someone on here years ago.

I think there are two general rules here
First of all, if you dont know everything (or close to everything) that would need to be done, you probably dont have the skill to do it yourself.
Which brings me to my second point, that if you want a t-top car, it is much more cost efficient to sell what you have an buy a t-top car, then to try to transform your hard top into a t-top.
The roof's are structurally different there is re-enforcement in a hard top that run by the top of the window that would need to be cut out. And its just a hell of a lot of work. If you were to go to all that trouble personally id be building a targa.
